my parents visited today and brought the male painted bunting with them again. this video was shot just before dusk.

faster firefox hack

this is an old but very handy hack i just found online and thought i’d post it to remember how to do it.
with just a few simple clicks, you can dramatically speed up your firefox browser on a high speed connection. this hack makes my intel mac mini blazin’ fast for surfing. well worth a try.
faster firefox hack
– type “about:config” (without quotes) in the address bar of firefox & hit enter
– scroll down to network.http.pipelining
double-click the false so it switches to true
– the next line is network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
double-click the “4″ and enter 20 into the box
– another double-click to switch network.http.proxy.pipelining to true
– now, right-click somewhere and select new -> integer
type nglayout.initialpaint.delay into the box as the preference name
enter 0 as the integer value
*this kills the built in 250 millisecond delay before firefox acts on the data it’s receiving
restart your browser and see if it feels faster. works fantastic for me.
